part of the night       i stepped outside, the cold air hittingh me like the salty atlantic had earlier that day. i looked up to see the guy with whom i had been sitting, and i nodded. "im just getting a little air" he said, puffing like a steam locomotive on a marlboro light, "yeah,  " i responded "or a little less air." to this he chuckled nervously and scowled inversely, at himself and at the whole world.         i turned away and leaned on the rail, reviewing the night in my mind. it had stared out sour and was ending out that way. i had only enjoyed my escape- the five mile w part of the night

when the sky fallswhen he falls, he falls hard,  and we all know that he's not goin' far,  getting stuck in all that's around him.   
noth'ings really holdin' him back,  but the thoughts in his head he has to attack,  blaming all that's outside him.   
crying, for something to change,  like a babe fresh out of the manger.  the problem is, he hates diff'rence.   
were all lookin' for something to protect,  and we all want someone strange to respect,  but no-one can catch us when the sky falls.

Where do I stand?  
Upon the concrete street where my bare-callused feet are worn from sandy   days at work, white from sun-deprivation.  Upon the thankless words of night, where graced I passed by.   
I Woke up,   in a land of light, distorted chimney-swept concrete gatherings surround me.  My Eyes open,   to find though infinite of appliance, reality no longer practice.  My Pants up.   In a clothed, closeted, hidden world, censored like the public's hurl.   
So I can dance on the street, shirt off, warm breeze caresses with salty breath, pol Ziggabut -sic-

here's the sad thing:
you made me prosmise not to lie,
and even though it was hard and i would have to try,
i made a pinky swear,
but now im stuck with my heart tearing as you play some song about abortions and banana splits when i have my parents in debt wondering if they will have to sell the home i grew up in to pay the electric bills-

when i told you i didn't like it-
you said i was mean
and called me a jerk.
you said you hated me
and hung up laughing.
i knew you werent serious- but at the moment i need your love the most
you gave me the only thing worse than sincere hate
apathetic love.
